One woman who used to volunteer in the fincial aid area would write checks from her personal account to help families. She's make cetain they got some food and clothing if they needed it from the food bank and donated clothes. Whebn she died she keft a bequest that moved the program out of a couple of tiny roioms in the church to its own building. Nearly 100% of the money donated goes to helping people. They have to pay utilities and insurance. The volunteers can do that because they have enough wealth to do it and the backing of the community. These are some of the people Obama claims don't pay their fair share.
Anyone who wants to study the tricks of propaganda rhetoric has a rich source of examples in the statements of President Barack Obama. On Monday, July 9th, for example, he said that Republicans "believe that prosperity comes from the top down, so that if we spend trillions more on tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, that that will somehow unleash jobs and economic growth."

Let us begin with the word "spend." Is the government "spending" money on people whenever it does not tax them as much as it can? Such convoluted reasoning would never pass muster if the mainstream media were not...
