No, the discussion isn't taking place. It was never meant to take place. If it were some embarrassing questions might be raised. For instance if even the most fervent anti-gunner would refuse to put a sign on their door proudly proclaiming their home to be gun-free why do they demand our schools be turned into magnets for lunatic mass-murderers by having them designated gun-free zones? Are they that stupid or is it they don't mind having a few more children sacrificed on the altar of Progressivism so they can exploit the tragedy? Hint: this is the same crowd that thinks killing 1.2 million unborn each year is a human right.

Difficulty in getting change in our country is an ongoing source of frustration. Particularly when we have huge problems facing us as we do today.

But the founders knew what they were doing setting up the checks and balances of our constitutional republic. The delicate arrangement we call freedom should never submit with ease to a charismatic demagogue or to an emotion filled crisis.

The current push for gun control is case and point. It is at a time like this that we should be grateful that changing our laws is hard to do.
