Yep. At our counthouse there there is an "inspection" area you have to go through with two armed police officers on each side. Its the only way into the building and there are always several armed personnel around the premises. Schools should have at least one armed security person in the office responsible for observation and protection. One well aimed shot would have stopped Lanza as he entered the building.

they could pay a bonus to employees who regularly came armed,and it would be still cheaper.

Columbine had an armed guard;the shooters waited until he went to lunch.
Guards are a KNOWN element,and will be the first to be shot.

I wrote earlier this month about an honest liberal who acknowledged the problems created by government dependency. Well, it happened again.

Like every other decent person, I was horrified and nauseated by the school shootings in Newton, Connecticut.
