My husband is a school principal and he has absolutely no say in what is served in the cafeteria. It is all mandated by state and federal agencies. They have VERY strict requirements of what can be served and it is a big challenge for the school to afford the food and then they see tray after tray after tray of food get thrown away. But all is not lost. They are allowed to have a half cup of french fries once a week.

The nation’s largest teachers union has published an article supporting the new federal school lunch regulations championed by First Lady Michelle Obama, despite the fact that students across the nation have complained about the food and not getting enough to eat.
