Government has much bigger fish to fry that researching gun use and crimes, which statistics, by the way, they already have.Almost all crimes are committed by either criminals using stolen weapons, or a friend, family member, or acquaintance who went off the deep end. Law abiding citizens do not commit crimes of any kind, and are entitle to have the means to defend themselves, their families and their property if they come under attack. SO, why is the government trying to regulate guns that belong to law abiding citizens, when it knows they will never get the guns away from the real criminals. This attempt to take our guns, is just another effort to deprive us of our liberties and freedoms.
To those who think people who own guns are dangerous, I have a challenge for you. Walk into any shooting range, and take a good hard look at how polite and well mannered everyone is. Why do you think this is the case? Those firearms, that the people have brought to that facility to practice using, remind people to have respect for others. Because everyone has access to weapons, everyone behaves in a civil manner. So how is gun control going to make things better? It won't, but allowing open carry just might change a great deal of the anti-social behaviors we see in criminally inclined individuals. The creeps aren't going to try anything with other armed people; they'll be looking for the unarmed!
Not all are intelligent, educated people. It appears we have a great many of limited intelligence, who believe allowing the government to take care of them and provide for them, is perfectly fine. These fools will never understand that there are no guarantees in life, and we can never really be safe. We just need to be aware of everything around us, at all times, and have the ability to know what to do if confronted with a dangerous situation; like the little girl who played dead at Sandy Hook, and survived for knowing what the best action to take would be.

I agree with that comment. The teacher's unions are all trying to turn our children into Socialist Zombies. Look at the faces shown on Obama's websites; all his supporters. So many young, dumb people, who have probably never had to make their own way in this world, are probably still living in mom or dad's house, while earning a mediocre pay doing nothing of any significance with their lives. Oh, and more than likely, what money they do make is spent on themselves, for fun, not for living expenses. Of course they want someone else to continue to pay for their existence!

Unions were necessary to protect employees before labor laws and safety standards came into being. Today, they are just fraternities, pushing their own form of greedy, corruption and socialism, where the work of the individual doesn't count; only union membership does, and all get the same pay, benefits and time off, depending on length of service. Is it any wonder so many union workers are frustrated and bored with their jobs, when they see the guy next to the, who does practically noting, enjoy the exact same compensation as they do? Unions, like the horse and buggy mode of transportation, is outdated, and has been replaced with more modern things.
