John McCain Doesn't "Understand" Why Paul, Cruz Would Filibuster Gun Control Legislation

90% of Americans don't know what is meant by "universal background checks". They think it means to just check the background of everyone who attempts to purchase a gun, anywhere, anytime, from anyone. They have not looked at the big picture and don't understand that the government will set up a national gun and gun owner registry in order to implement UBC's. If you polled the American people with this question: "Do you support the federal government keeping a registry of every gun and gun owner in the United States?", you'd get a resounding "NO!" I'd bet it would be 30% "YES" (liberals and anti gun rights people) vs. 70% "NO".

Arizona Senator John McCain apparently didn't think calling Senators Rand Paul, Ted Cruz "whacko birds" was enough. Over the weekend McCain said he just doesn't "understand" why GOP Senators would filibuster any type of gun control legislation, saying the Senate should at least have debate on the issue.

"I don't understand it," the Arizona Republican said on Sunday of the threat coming from Sen. Rand Paul,Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Mike Lee and nine other Republicans. "The purpose of the United States Senate is to debate and to vote and to let the people know where we stand.”
