Democrat Says Obama's Gun Control Proposals Are Extreme

Question: Does CT have gun registration? We know they have an assault weapons ban, and we also know that the guns the mom had were legal for her to own. So they must have fit within what was acceptable for civilians to own, under CT's "assault weapons" ban. However, would she have also had to register them? If so, it would be a prime example that not only did their "assault weapons" ban fail, but so did their gun registration requirement laws. Gun control is doomed to fail in reducing crime because criminals don't follow or obey those laws. It's not that hard to understand.

On ABC's This Week yesterday, Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp described President Obama's gun control proposals as "extreme."

“I think you need to put everything on the table, but what I hear from the administration -- and if the Washington Post is to be believed -- that's way -- way in extreme of what I think is necessary or even should be talked about. And it's not going to pass,” said Heitkamp.
