rob - it doesn't matter what the polls say. It matters what the U.S. Constitution says.

ateapartyone: these pat-downs and scanners are not necessary. We could easily use behavior profiling like Israel and other countries do (and very successfully I might add). Besides, it violates the 4th amendment of the U.S. Constitution. What's next, pat-downs and scanners at train stations, subways, bus stations, shopping malls, schools, public buildings, etc. etc. etc. ??? Why not, it would make it safer for us and our kids, correct? Why wait until a bomb goes off?

Is Health Care a Right?

Great article by Walter Williams! Besides being immoral (forcing someone to pay for the desires or needs of another, which amounts to extortion), the U.S. Constitution does not allow for individuals to receive health care as a right. But the current administration doesn't really care about the Constitution anyway, they just do what they want.

Oh, and it's soooo terrible that insurance companies want to make a profit. Let's just pass a law that no business person can make a profit. It doesn't matter that they wouldn't be able to provide jobs or support their families or donate to charity. They're just evil greedy people.

Actually, the people that think health care (and a myriad of other things) are a "right", and feel...

Sweden's Government Health Care

Medicare is broke, rife with fraud, and yet people want the government to run health care for everyone? I don't think so.

Besides, it is unconstitutional for the Federal Government to provide health care for it's citizens. That is left up to the states or to the people. But most people don't know or don't care about the Constitution. They think they are "entitled" to everything. For those people, please read the Constitution (it's not that long, in fact, nothing compared to the almost 2000 pages of the health care bill). Better yet, take a class on the Constitution. You might learn something.
