“The Republican Party is no longer the party of limited government, with limited spending and limited taxes. It is now officially exactly right behind the Democrats—on everything. It is time for conservatives to start looking for a new home. There’s precious little left for us here.” That is 'news'?? What, are we just waking up? This story is at least 30 years old. Even the terms "neo-con" and "RINO" were behind the curve, and look how long they have been around. There is a reason so many Americans abandoned the myth of the two-party system long ago.
It is too bad that faux conservative McConnell is not as so incredulous about the constant printing and issuing of credit by The Ben Bernanke and his cohort Geithner as he seems to find it convenient to be about spending and taxing facets of the budget. But then, not only would that require some actual mental exercise, it would also require breaking away from the bipartisan globalist agenda to bury this country in Keynesian detritus. It is our turn to laugh out loud at the so-called conservatism of McConnell, Graham, Boehner, and the rest of the sots we keep installing to our own demise.
"Is Middle East Peace a Mirage?" The question is obviously a rhetorical one, right?
Part of the problem with "the fifty bucks saved buying Chinese jeans...going into alternative purchases" is that those alternative purchases, in a real world scenario, are increasingly likely to be spent on other Chinese merchandise. It would be interesting to know what percent of the merchandise on Walmart shelves is made in USA...
Considering the unconstitutional Keynesian debt based system our economy is presently managed under, any "type of economic nationalism" might not be the the best way to go. But if our economy were less managed by currency manipulation by both government and private interests as well, and true to constitutional mandates, tariffs and restrictions would be less about legally imposing personal preferences on purchases and really more about leveling the playing field of the market to protect native products and jobs. Needless to say though that there is always the possibility of abuse in said "leveling." But abuse is a possibility in any facet of government influence.

Yes Pat it is! And you personally gave it a couple of hefty shoves in that direction...TWICE! The firsT time was in 2006 when you abandoned principle in order to maintain party favor. During the primary season you took the correct but unpopular stand on all the issues and exposed the uber-lame non-candidate Bob Dole for the stinking faux-conservative fraud that he was and is. But then you turn around and actually ENDORSE the globalist neocon RINO!! The second time was four years later when you did the same back-stabbing turn around for Bubba Dubya, another globalist neocon RINO. And all for what? "Party unity?!!" To keep getting the crumbs from the GOP table, being a guest commentator on FOX??
I will defer comment on your abstention from commenting on the previous no comment.
What was both Republican and Democrat party conventions if not just a pageant and huge bullying session?
