That sounds like a personal problem to me. ALL religions, as well as all businesses, as well as all government agencies have "secrets" that are kept from the general public, or at least from non-members. The reasons are quite simple, those people the information is kept from have no reasonable need to know it.

A good example is President Obama going on national TV and telling the world that he's going to such and such a military base ( Ft. Campbell) which is the home of this Special Warfare Operations group (SEAL Team 6), thus revealing to everyone, including our enemies, where they can find the SEALS that killed bin Laden, should they want to get even.
THERE IS NO DEFENSIBLE REASON why he should have announced this to the world. We operate best in secrecy when people don't know who or where we are. It also helps to keep our families safe from retribution.

The connection this has to the LDS Temple ceremonies is that non-members of the church don't need to know what they are because in most cases they wouldn't understand them anyhow, and in all cases, you're not affected in any way by them. So there's also no good reason for you to know what they are.

Also, while we don't discuss the details, we have no problem discussing their purpose - to offer the saving power of baptism to all, and to bind us together as families for the eternities.

Everyone needs to know but most will not prepare themselves to find out. The Lord said don't cast your pearls before the swine. Not Secrets, but sacred things that we are commanded by Christ not to share with the bigoted swine that might ridicule sacred things. When Christ said don't cast the pearls before swine do you think he might have meant to keep the sacred things secret?

Well; nothing much could be learned from complete balderdash. A temple ceremony from false prophets would hardly amount to divine.

When the former junior state senator from Chicago, one Barack Obama—a man no one knew diddly about—decided, “Hey, I’m gonna run for president!” people were eager to learn more about this promising upstart. Uncle Joe Biden was curious about Barack. Joe said at first blush that Obama seemed “clean” and “articulate,” which, I think, would be a hate crime if a conservative said that about him.

Anyhoo, Obama impressed many chiefly because he could enthusiastically read vague, cliché-riddled speeches off a teleprompter that included lots of big words like nobody’s business! This ability to read hazy political speeches in...
