I know A LOT of former democrats who became Republicans or Independents once the 60s boomers took the party in a radical direction they didn't agree with. The southern strategy is a myth. Dems still held the deep south into the 80s.

Actually it was Republicans who got every constitutional ammendment & civil rights bill passed. The democrats joined in once they realized blacks could be a big voting block, hence the Johnson comment. He did start the war on poverty " & it accomplished something hundreds of years of horrible slavery & vile Jim crow oppression didn't, the destruction of the black family as a solid unit. That is beyond reprehensible. what supreme court cases /laws do you believe conservatives have weakened?

I'm sorry but I have never seen the level of overt, hateful comments coming from the right as I do from the left,in the areas regarding being a woman or minority. When I have seen things online, 9 times out of 10 someone calls them out on it. On the other side you get violent death threats in extremely ugly language at anyone who steps a foot outside that box they have put you in. I have tremendous respect for people who have "come out "so to speak, from that box & are unafraid to have a different opinion than the one they are "supposed "to have. For that, even their own will vilify them in the most racist, mysoginist ways. I have been on the receiving end & I am not even a public person.
