In response to:

Phil Isn't the One Who Needs to Apologize

The man should indeed apologize. For every surplus dollar he has, that is one dollar that was denied to a poor person. Thus, by hoarding so much wealth, the man has in effect stolen from the poor. Why such theft is not grounds for imprisonment just shows how rotten our greedy nation really is. Once a person makes enough to pay their basic bills, they have enough money. Their surplus income should then be taken away and applied toward paying for the needs of the people who are not lucky enough to get a high paying job. People cannot achieve true equality so long as some are permitted to have more than others. Our nation was founded upon the principle of equality, yet we still endure inequality in the living standards of our citizenry.

“Once a person makes enough to pay their basic bills, they have enough money” okay, if that’s how you feel, who decides as to what are basic bills? By your logic, if someone decide to purchase a second TV, they should be imprisoned because that is not part of the (government approved) "basic bills”, because there is no need for a second TV and that money could of “helped” the underachievers… there is a place that is perfect for your ideal country, it’s called North Korea.

"Our nation was founded upon the principle of equality" a little education: it's equality under the law, not on material things... but your leftist indoctrination seem to fit you well

Your name isn't quite correct. It should be communist. I'll just bet you don't give everything above your "basic bills" to the government. Mostly, they just squander it anyway.

You have forgotten that this country is built on capitalism. You get what you work for - - or used to - - until the "Great Society" took hold and now we have sweet, promiscuous Angel and her brood demanding that we support her and her little illegitimates.

Your satire is noted and appreciated. It points out the hypocrisy evident in the leftist elites arguments for wealth redistribution. Indeed, this country was founded on the principle of equality, equality of opportunity, not outcome. Outcome of that equality is not guaranteed, is up to the individual and the amount of effort they want to expend on their own behalf. There is no right to the wealth created by the hard work or wisdom of another human being. Luck does not enter into the equation, unless you're a leftist with an agenda.

Hey big jerk, I assume you that you wrote what you wrote to get us all mad. Principles of equality mean that we have an equal chance of succeeding, or failing, based on our willingness to do what it takes to achieve it. With the exception of the disabled, the opportunity is there. We have the choice of working hard to achieve success, or being lazy and expecting others to help us out. Equality also means that access to what it takes to achieve should never be denied by things such as race, religion or sex, as long you qualify to begin with.

The equality you are referring to does not mean equal access to wealth you idiot. I hate when you idiotic liberals twist things around to make it benefit themselves! You are the one being greedy!

LD's talent as a satirist- indeed, satire in general- has become redundant. Anymore, you can get pretty much the same thing by calling up a dozen or so quotes from the leading lights of the Prog-Left.

True but it's always fun to see how many "new" readers he hooks.

Loyal, you really do need to let people know that what you post is satire. Besides, you forgot to add that his talent and hard work are irrelevant because he was just lucky. Luck is fickle and favors some and punishes others. Why not take what luck has given him and distribute it to those who were unlucky? Does that sound enough like good liberal "logic" to you?

At first blush you may think this is just some leftist nut, "loyal"' well he is that, but he is deadly serious folks and represents a majority of Americans or a near majority anyway. We are in serious danger here because they are DEADLY serious and growing more powerful everyday. Along with comments we must take immediate steps to counter this CANCER that is consuming our nation, if you do not it will be gone forever.

By the way, your god oblamer, spends over ONE BILLION just on vacations--this would put a lot of caviar on the tables of the poor--this is not a necessity--this is sheer luxury--hope you are enjoying his sunsets
Loyal Democrat Wrote: Jan 23, 2013 7:35 AM
The man is responsible for making the decisions for millions of people. the decisions that they lack the ability to make on their own. Because he saves so many, surely he deserves a special lifestyle.

His vacation budget could also be looked at on a commission basis. Obama essentially earns a commission on the money he takes in from those who have more than their fair share. Thus, he takes in billions for the poor, and he deserves a cut for his efforts, much like the COE of the United Way earns.

So, when you make your thirty five thou, you continue to work but will give anything made over that amount of YOUR SALARY to those who look for handouts can sit all year on their butts and say thank you very much! This stupid government just loves people like you--people with brown noses. I really wonder where your brain is--and, by the way I will open my check book any day to you and show you my contributions to charity--those really in need--your thinking just amazes me!

Loyal Democrat...a perfect example of what is wrong with this country. Smart enough to write the above, too stupid to understand what the founders of this nation were talking about when discussing the principle of equality.

Where is your spell checker? "Stalinist" is not spelled D-e-m-o-c-r-a-t.
(Well, actually ....)
Seriously, it's refreshing to see a leftist actually being honest about his agenda. Why not adopt a system which has led every country who tried it to starvation or bankruptcy?

Jim, LDdoesn't believe a word of what he writes. Get some basic critical thinking skills, please.

Please tell me this is some sort of a sick joke.

Phil Mickelson is a professional golfer. He makes boatloads of money. Millions. What’s more, he makes boatloads of money for a lot of other people in the process, including generating massive contributions to charity. He’s a jobs creator and an engine of economic growth, as are many other pro golfers and athletes.

So Mickelson takes a look at his income tax burden, and is displeased. First we have Obama and the Democrats riding roughshod over the GOP and enacting a 4.6% tax increase on the evil rich. Then we...
