Intellectuals and Race: Part II

Sowell misses the entire point. Yes, people of different races will have different results for various reasons. But through redistribution, we can make amends for that by ensuring that everyone has equal results, thus the input no longer is a factor. This is the premise of the constitutional provision of "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need". Marx and Engels, our two most prominent founding fathers, recognized that individuals will have differing inputs, but the use of an egalitarian system would provide for identical results. Once everyone has identical results, all people will automatically become happy and content.

"From each according to his ability, to each according to his need"

means the strong are the slaves of the "needy".

Liberals are evil.

Thankfully, we now have a ruler who firmly believes in the Marxist principles that are the foundation for our type of govt. With Obama, we will finally be able to bring the blessings of equality of outcome to all of the citizenry.

I can tell you as a high school teacher for 36 years that the only way to insure equality of outcome is to bring the top down! The bottom NEVER gets raised. I once tried "redistributing wealth" using grades as a substitute for wealth, the kids HATED it !!!!!!!!! Even the middle of the "curve" was dissatisfied with the inability to improve as individuals. Those that didn't want to work sat back and got worse, further de-grading the outcome (no pun intended) The over-achievers, tired of carrying all the weight, finally caved and the system collapsed, everyone had failing grades.

How do you know LD is a he?
Alex_P Wrote: Mar 13, 2013 10:59 AM
It's a generic "he" like a generic "man" in "all men are created equal".
I am sorry that this needs to be explained.
I weep for our country if it needs to be explained to many.

Alex_P, you have expressed a truth that needs to be poured into the heads of many people; would that such enlightenment were possible.
I have the impression that many who refuse to use "he" and "man" in the generic sense are gynophobic. This applies also to the use of "humankind" instead of "mankind."

ctodt jr., you are more perspicacious than many who are first exposed to Loyal Democrat.

Editor's note: This is Part II in a series. Part I can be found here.

Once we recognize that large differences in achievement among races, nations and civilizations have been the rule, not the exception, throughout recorded history, there is at least some hope of rational thought -- and perhaps even some constructive efforts to help everyone advance.

Even such a British patriot as Winston Churchill said, "We owe London to Rome" -- an acknowledgement that Roman conquerors created Britain's most famous city, at a time when the ancient Britons were incapable of doing so themselves.

No one who...
