Immigration Gambles

It is improper to look at people as being a member of a particular group or race. Therefore, we should not base immigration standards upon such criteria. If the vast majority of a segment of immigrants just happen to be dependent upon govt subsidies and are likely to support politicians who offer such subsidies, then so be it. But we cannot classify people based upon skin color or group membership. People should never be judged by the color of their skin or lose their individuality by being judged as a group.

Are you going to tell us where you were for two whole weeks?

On a similar note, we must recognize that people of certain races or groups need special consideration when it comes to hiring, education admissions, and so forth. Thus, we need to ensure that Affirmative Action applies to immigrants from races or groups designated as having certain traits.

People with certain skin color or group identity need special help simply because of such status. As such, they need to be classified based upon skin color and group membership so they can receive special consideration. Because people with the same skin color or group identity act the same, they need to be judged as a group, not as individuals.

Bravo! Bravo!
This issue was made for you, LD. It's amazing, isn't it, that lib/Dem/progressives can hold on to these contradictory thoughts without suffering blinding headaches. This is possibly your best comment ever. It's genius. Thank you.
I know it won't make even a tiny difference to the committed ideologues. Some of our favorites (Allison, et al) make a career of sophomoric certainty, never concerned about their obvious irrationality. But there will be some who will blink, scratch their heads and wonder...

Britain's late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher said it all when she wrote that the world has "never ceased to be dangerous," but the West has "ceased to be vigilant."

Nothing better illustrates her point than the fact that the West has imported vast numbers of people who hate our guts and would love to slit our throats. Political correctness has replaced self-preservation. The Boston Marathon killer who set a bomb down right next to an eight-year-old child is only the latest in an on-going series of such people.

Senator Patrick Leahy has warned us not to use the Boston Marathon terrorists as an...
