Dr Freer, Comrade Obama and his czars are following the Marxist playbook to bring America down from within. His intends to destroy. Furthermore, Government agencies, such as the FDA, are deliberately trying to destroy the American people. For example, the FDA is approving and mandating fluoride and chloride in public water systems. It advises against eating certain kinds of fish on the one hand (because you might get too much mercury), and on the other, puts mercury in our vaccines and packs our teeth with mercury. It is approving and even mandating that artificial foods, such as MSG and artificial sweeteners such as NutraSweet, which are known to have bad health effects, be put in foods. And the list goes on and on almost without end.

Looking back, I noticed that the medical profession started to decline when the AMA, which is effectively a doctor’s lobbying group, went into partnership with the Federal Government, and the Government granted the medical establishment a monopoly on medical care under heavy government regulation. And it declined when it partnered up with medical insurance companies. In the old days, doctors would make house calls and take a chicken or whatever in payment for their services, now you practically have to take a mortgage out on your house to pay the bill in many cases, and no house calls.

The FDA is waging war today against natural medicine, you know, herbal and alternative medical treatments that have been used for thousands of years around the world. The drug industry invents new medicines (so that they can be patented and priced sky high) that usually have bad side effects, and that often cause the very problems they were intended to cure. Generally, the Establishment today usually treats symptoms rather than causes (and usually does not even know what the causes are). The government backed medical establishment’s partnership-monopoly is doing as much, if not more, harm as good today. The best thing would be to do away with the FDA and medical insurance and once again leave doctors free to do their jobs.

Louie13: Another piece of the solution which you imply but do not detail is that we need to sanction intermediate tiers of health-care professionals as primary-care providers, not prosecute and/or persecute them for "practicing medicine without a license." I'm not talking about "alternative medicine" practitioners and other lunatics, but rather about well-educated nurse-midwives, physician assistants, EMTs and military-trained trauma medics, etc.

It doesn't require an M.D. to sew up that nasty gash your kid got showing off on his skateboard, or to supervise a normal, low-risk birth. Doctors and hospitals and their associated high costs are appropriate for serious illnesses and injuries, but they shouldn't be our only legal option.

“In a humane health care system, as much of the rest of the world has, no one would have to know the arcane minutiae of how to apply for a high risk pool. Everyone would have (coverage) that qualifies you for health care when and where you need it.” — Liz Jacobs, a health care advocate and spokeswoman for the group National Nurses United

Far from Ms. Jacobs’ ideal, much of the rest of the world does not have a health care system at all, humane or not. To most of the world, “a high risk pool” is a large body...
