The Invincible Lie: Part II

We are all equal as human beings. Some have been born with talents that make them rich while others haven't. This isn't something the gov't needs to address but something God has created because we are to view eachother with love and thankfulness. The poor are allowed to rely more on charity and see the good in others and the rich are allowed to give with gratuitous hearts. It should be a reciprical approach in our communities sponsored by our churches. The problem is our churches have become dependent on the gov't for their 'charity' instead of transforming hearts and minds and getting their members involved. God made us all equal as children of God. We are to view others as Christ and help them. This can't be done with gov't.

What has happened is religion has become feeding the poor because religion gets a lot of money from the federal gov't. Because of the gravy train, religion has preached victimization from the pulpit instead of virtue. They worry about feelings instead of responsible choices. They take away consequences by providing over and over so irresponsibility is rewarded. The most profitable business in our country has been non profits.

Glad to see some integrity now. Our Church has been complicit in supporting abortion and birth control. I've watched a pastor call the cops on parishoners who were putting pro life voting records on cars in the church parking lot. God forbid he loose his tax exempt status! The bishops begged for universal healthcare in Nancy Pelosi's office and asked for 'abortion nuetral' language. A Catholic lobbyist wrote letters to churches in his state not to support a pro life group because they weren't bipartisan! Ha! Playing politician and concern for money instead of concern for the souls of their people have lead to the situation we are in today. They've been hypocrites for too long.

Rob3690, I'm a Catholic also. Our Catholic Church has enabled the welfare state since it's become an arm of the gov't. Catholic Charities takes in 3 billion a year and 65% is from our tax dollars. The USCCB has joined with Jim Wallis, the socialist, in his Circle of protection to make sure no entitlements are being cut. They want us to remember the poor because they make a lot of money. Catholic Charities took $250,000 of our tax dollars to hand out sterile needles to the drug addict. I've seen them have more concern over their tax exempt status than the unborn. They were willing to have 'abortion neutral' language in exchange for universal healthcate. Their 'charity' has become fake. I love my faith but leaders need to change.
I wonder if the bishops call for protection of the poor helps protect all the gov't money they get for their 'charity'! When Catholic Charities takes in 3 billion a year and 65% is from the gov't, they like to be a player in helping the gov't redistribute wealth. Then there's the money they get from the gov't for their 'nonprofit' hospitals and universities that creates wealth for the people who work for them. They've got the best business model I've ever seen since they don't get taxed for anything but take in money from the gov't, businesses, and our tithe.
