You see, in the military, under Obama (the first gay president according to Newsweek Magazine and Larry Sinclair), it would be the man that doesn't want to serve with the homosexual -who watches him in the shower and winks at him at bed time- that has the "problem" not the homosexual himself. Homophobia is worse that homosexuality in this man's army.
brightontop, see that is why it is so hard to get along with homosexuals. They are always trying to make the claim that REAL men have some repressed gay desires. The truth is that homosexuals lust after REAL men more than they do other homosexuals. It's as though the thing that drives them to participate in such lewd and despicable acts also drives them to want to defile those who don't have such desires. When a homosexual openly lusts after a REAL man and is met with extremely hostile reaction, I totally understand it. It is not funny it is disgusting. That is why our men in uniform don't need open homosexuals serving with them. Many of them won't say anything now that DADT has been repeal for fear of reprisal.
Boy Scouts, time to get rid of Turley. Sooner rather than later, before he does irreparable harm to this great American institution. (You know what? Change "Boy Scouts" to "America" and "Turley" to "Obama" while you at it. The statement aptly applies.)
The worst part of this piece of film is the standing ovation and hearty applause he recieved when he advocated for government funding for contraception and abortion.
Neil got it right. O'Donnell is a horse's rear end. Look at his smug face. You'd think he'd just announced that he caught a high ranking government official covering up a gun-running operation to Mexican drug cartels or something.

No, the census bureau does not use the "absolute poverty" standard for the assessments it makes on poverty in this country. The 46 million that they have conclude to be below the poverty in this nation would be among the wealthest in third world countries. That then by itself speaks of a "floating" standard. By the way, just how much to you give to the poor? What are you PERSONALLY doing to alleviate poverty in this nation? Voting for those who have tried, unsuccessfully, to "end" poverty by redistributing wealth? Ain't worked yet; why keep beating your head against the wall?

In other words, one's actual economic viabilty is not at issue when the label "poor" is used to descibe them. This is why class envy and class warfare is at the heart of today's liberal/statist doctrine. Without stoking the flames of "economic inequality" liberals would be powerless.

Very good points, Mr. Sowell. I recently picked up my college sociology book. I was amazed at just how much of this is like reading a "handbook for liberalism" or a "Marxist's Bible". In this book, written by Richard T. Schaefer, were two definitions of poverty: 1) absolute poverty, which refers to a minimum level of subsistence below which families should not be expected to exist, and 2) relative poverty, which was described as a "floating" standard of deprivation which suggests that those people at the bottom of a society (economically), whatever their lifestyles, are "disadvantaged" in comparison with the nation as a whole. The book went on to say that, "most of our country's current social programs view poverty in relative terms."
This is too easy. But, I'll do it anyway: "...Big Government Behind..." Meaning Michelle's derriere, right?

"...strong elements of their psychological make-up..." What you are describing is a mind set- a mental disorder, a disease. Don't let anyone convince you otherwise. Most of those with homosexual desires were sexually traumatized in their developmental years through pornography and/or molestation. No, not all victims of child sexual molestation turn out homosexually oriented, but MOST homosexuals have experienced this type of trauma and have become "imprinted" with twisted desires. That is a fact. You can probably attest to it KevNC, or have friends that can.
