How about decreasing it 1/2 to 1% each of the 10 years?

Politicians Exploit Economic Ignorance

To all of you philosophical youngsters loving your discussions, let me simplify. Go back to the first line and I'll help define middle class tax increase. For retirees on fixed incomes there has been an available deduction for medical expenses: anything over 7 1/2% of gross income. Obamacare has changed this number to "anything over 10%" which means that the deduction shrinks and the tax increases. When doing taxes this April 15, it was necessary to add to our check for estimated taxes to cover next year's tax bill. And this on what is less than 20% of what is considered rich in Obama's mind--a very average income.
This is just one more reason why I have decided to buy either a Ford or an American made, non-union foreign car when my Pontiac lease runs out next year. After 24 GM cars during my adult life time, this is the end of that relationship.

I'm With Anne Rice: I'm Resigning Too

I admit to not knowing much about you, but I'm assuming you didn't make a big splash and lots and lots of money with huzzahs and praise from many of the little people. She can be as unreligious as she wants, but now we won't pay to listen to or read about her.
Forget the left-they have no place to go, but watch out for what they are planning next. The really powerful left led by George Soros and friends who remain anonymous to most of us but are pulling the strings in the White House, are the bogeymen and yes, they scare the heck out of me.

Secular Saboteurs

Gee! Brent's legs must be tingling as well.

It is troubling to see a "Catholic" who on the one side really is while on the other hand he works relentlessly for presidential and other Democrat candidates who sometimes, but not always, practice Catholicity. If they do not, and scandalize others in the process, no matter. He still supports them.

Bah! Humbug!

PBS Wages War On Pro-Lifers

This piece started out speaking of the airing of religious programs--5 remaining at this time. These 5 are making alternative arrangements, so they have won that war, right?

Americans have a time honored method of getting their point across: stop buying the product which in this instance means "no more contributions to my local PBS station." My conscience says I should pay that $5 a month to watch 1.5 hours per week, but no longer. Am I the only one? I doubt it. Just don't support them any more.

It's Time for Social Security Choice

Lola26 Wrote: Jun 23, 2009 1:43 PM
Please do not forget that Social Security funds are your money. It is not an entitlement or welfare no matter how much the libs try to lump it with Medicaid and Medicare which you also pay into.

If you are a low income earner, you will get your money back in just a few years; middle income earners need to live to be 90 or more for a return and high income folks will never get it all back. And that's without the 1-2% "return on investment."
