what the ObaMessiah did for the UAW---> The ObaMessiah loves to bray about saving GM, but what he REALLY did was save the UAW-- at the expense of many secured creditors including, ironically, teachers' unions, etc., holding GM's bonds as investments. GM STILL went thru B/R, which NOBODY seems to know, BUT The One saved the UAW contract from being dismissed in B/R court. Now GM is AGAIN losing $ big time because the REAL problem (assembly line guys making $150k all-in with just H.S. degrees) was not resolved!

loadstar, it is called "gettin' while the gettin's good"!

Everyone knows we are on the Titanic! Everyone knows that none of the levels of spending, public retirement benefits, public employee benefits, public health (medicaid,Medicare, disability, prescription drug bebefits, Obamacare, and Social Security) will not last! In spite of the level if ignorance, thanks to immigration and the issue (thats an adverb) of our public schools, most realize, in their private thoughts, that the house of cards will fall, -----Someday! To politicians it is just the expectation that the boat sinks (as George Will describes it) "beyond the horizon of political consequences"! Did our schools actually process students who believe it can last?

Perhaps they figured if they didn't somebody else would and it would be gone either way?
We are seeing today that the country absolutely refuses to cut ANYTHING, and absent cuts in benefits and services and Borrowing, the die is cast; nothing can save us now!

So, I'm gettin mine while the gettin's good!

Alarm bells are going off for labor unions around the country.

Four years after electing the most pro-labor president of the last half-decade, it looks like the scheme has backfired.

Since then not only have labor unions taken historic defeats in former union strongholds, like Wisconsin and Michigan, labor union membership is declining at a rate that will make them a...
