Pipes IS simply a neoCON/Pan-Israeli-- NOT to be confused with a conservative! They got us to take out Saddam who had worried Israel, but Saddam had nothing to do with 9/11. In fact, Saddam was an opponent of BOTH Iran AND Osama Bin Hiding. And now, after spending a staggering sum on Iraq ($1-3 TRILLION, depending on who is counting), Iraq leans toward Iran! Such a deal!

Maybe because Saddam had provided material support to Al Qaida and other Jihadist organizations who were planning and executing attacks on American interests? Violated the truce agreement, including the no-fly zone? No question that post 9/11, the US needed to demonstrate that not only did we have a capable military, but that we had the will to use it to defend our interests and allies (including Kuwait and Saudi Arabia - hardly friends of Israel).

Fail, loadstar. Saddam was not a serious threat to Israel by the time we invaded. It was more of a threat to the US, since it had violated the terms of the truce of the first war we fought against them. As for Pipes, neocons, and the US-Israel relationship, sure, there are many who would like the US to be Israel's protector, both here and in Israel. But Jews on the right in both nations agree that Israel should take care of itself. What nobody ought to want is an America that aids the Jihadist enemies of Israel and the U.S., bit that's where we're headed.

Why then did the neoCONS set taking out Saddam as their # 1 goal?! ALL of them were HUGE Zionists/Pan-Israeli's...see list just above of the cabal then around Dubya...he himself told AIPAC in realty-- "I took over 20 of your people into my administration!"

Saddam was not any threat to Israel. But was really threat to American interest in Middle East. His plans were to create Arab coalition and expel America from ME.

Were Barack Obama re-elected, I predicted two months before the Nov. 2012 presidential vote, "the coldest treatment of Israel ever by a U.S. president will follow." Well, election's over and that cold treatment is firmly in place. Obama has signaled in the past two months what lies ahead by:
