Ms. Alexander did not say her view was the only way to think about God's existence. Rather, she gave a subjective reason -take it or leave it. Personally, I identified with pretty much everything she said. It is interesting to me that "tdud" discounts her faith as a reason to her success. Aren't most people driven by something? Clearly, her faith is what drives her, so how can it be disconnected from her success?

Savior general? Sherman was insane and a butcher of both soldiers and civilians. As Micro-Manager of the Civil War, Lincoln knew of Sherman's proclivities for butchery and was desperate enough to use him.

Hamilton led the men -Washington gave up midway & went back home- Hamilton's whiskey tax was particularly hated in the back-country because whisky production and distilling were widespread; whiskey was often used as a money, being easier to carry than a lot of corn!Hamilton knew he could pick on these farmers. His capture & ill-treatment of these old Revolutionary War vets was despicable!

What do you think the Declaration of Independence was? Independence from Whom? The 13 British colonies were separating/seceding from Britain! Just because Jefferson didn't use the word, secession doesn't mean it didn't happen! Sheesh!
