What does one do? When elections are false choices or meaningless. When the minority can block or squelch the will of the majority through intimidation and legal maneuvering. When the voices of the citizenry are meaningless in the face of millions of dollars of bribe money. When the institutions of truth and learning (press and education) have been usurped by the left. When generations of dependents are being raised to value a "free" ride over hard work. When it's more lucrative to collect welfare than to work. When we hand out benefits and votes to those who aren't event citizens. I'd like to think there is a path back to sanity. But the margins are growing slim to do so "democratically" and the alternative is unthinkable.

The fact that so many successful politicians are such shameless liars is not only a reflection on them, it is also a reflection on us. When the people want the impossible, only liars can satisfy them, and only in the short run. The current outbreaks of riots in Europe show what happens when the truth catches up with both the politicians and the people in the long run.
