Brilliant commentary and I agree completely. I really suspect the credibility of that poll. Women are neither stupid nor so easily taken in. I believe the poll was manipulated either in the questions or in the subjects chosen. I simply cannot believe that many women are that stupid. I wonder if the poll were taken at the local DHS office where the food stamp/TANF/Medicaid crowd hangs out? The average woman is NOT looking for a hand out. She does NOT want her children burdened with debt. She does NOT want the anti-family, pro abortion administration to continue. I think both Mitt and Ann Romney have incredible appeal to women voters and if they are experiencing a little blip on the radar screen there is time to turn it around.

In 1968, cigarette maker Philip Morris launched a brand of smokes just for women. Marketed with the provocative slogan, “You’ve come a long way, baby,” Virginia Slims offered an elegant profile and an image that suggested freedom, empowerment and equality.

Unfortunately for women, “Skinny Ginnys” were not a cultural or political statement, they were just cigarettes. The brand caused nicotine addiction and lung cancer but also was responsible for a rapid increase in smoking among teen girls.

Nonetheless, sales of Virginia Slims made buckets of money for a whole lot of savvy men in sales and marketing. Chalk one up for...
