Reviews: Laughing Joe Biden Was Condescending, Disrespectful, Arrogant

Why do you feel it necessary to dictate our reactions by giving us those of media pundits? Who the hell cares what Peggy Noonan or Gloria Borger think? They don't know any more than the rest of us. We saw what we saw. Biden was aggressive, Ryan was passive. Biden seemed more knowledgeable and Ryan didn't seem to be able to give any specifics. Ryan said something patently false or ridiculous and Biden, rightly, laughed at him. We should all be laughing at him - he has no idea what he's pitching.

It is not necessary to dictate reactions. I watched the debate in a room where the volume was very low and visual cues became much more prominent. I honestly felt that the Vice president looked boorish and incredibly disrespectful. I have come to expect that there will be occasional interruptions in a debate; however the Vice President's interruptions were so ubiquitous that it became rapidly apparent that it was a tactic to bully his opponent. The media pundits merely echoed my own impressions. I find value in their insights because they historical experience covering debates and can give context to the behavior of the participants. Ryan gave far more specifics than Biden. I believe you have mistaken blowhard platitudes for knowledge.

Reaction is pouring in from last night's Vice Presidential debate, which quickly descended into a one man shout-fest: (1) The RNC produced a rapid response video showing a split-screen of Joe Biden laughing as Paul Ryan discussed serious issues.  This may have been Biden's rudest tic -- even more so than the relentless interrupting:
