This is how Obama and the Democrats are going to claim that he "fixed" Medicare. In the not too distant future, e.g., before Medicare is finally bankrupt in about 2017, Medicare will have been folded into the new single payer (yes, that is what it will be) system. The whole purpose of the mandate is to tax healthier, younger people to shore up Medicare without actually having to say that is what it is. A lot more politically palatable than raising the withholding tax. Just make it seem like it is your "duty" to insure yourself when in reality you are picking up the shortfall for Medicare. On the flip side, of course, what the elderly will get in terms of care will be steadily reduced so that, voila!, the Medicare cost issue goes...

Can 'Eurabia' Be Far Behind?

Having just returned from Munich, in my view there is little evidence that the Muslims in that city - the women trailing their men in their full veils and with many children in tow - are at all interested in anything but taking over. My question is, once they kill what is left of European culture, what will they have? They don't seem to be very good at building an economy, absent some resource they can sell to the infidels.
The terming of this horrendous plan as "Health Control" is brilliantly perceptive, for that, far more than "Health Care" is what it is. It is just like Rent Control, and we know or should know the effects THAT has had on cities that have imposed it. LESS housing, not more. The more we clear the fog, the better the chance that the blind may see before it is too late. I will use this term whenever and wherever I can.
You got it! I have been thinking the same thing exactly. These steps are long overdue.
I see you would not or could not answer my question. But, to answer yours - I do dislike having to pay taxes (I don't like having to pay to have my car repaired or to go to the dentist, either). That is not the point. The point is that I like even less being stolen from. I believe taxes may only be levied legally for those purposes specified in the Constitution and for such bonds or other assessments one may choose to vote for in state or local elections. Anything beyond that, to me, is theft as it is without my consent.
Which is a more accurate statement of truth:
1) You have the right to keep the fruits of your own labor and determine how you will distribute them and to whom.
2) The "state" owns you and the fruits of your labor and it has the right to determine how much, if anything you should have.

The fact is, unless you get yourself a job with the federal government or one of the elite's few, favored "private" entities (the only remaining "growth industries), you are going to be unemployed soon anyway so all this talk about losing your private employer-provided insurance and/or being required to pay out of your own pocket is going to be pretty academic. Once the last of the tax providers (and all the remaining wealth of the non-elites) is gone, it will be all about whether you are "useful" to the elites. Or not...

Notice the "group think" mentality, as if the individual is no longer relevant. I, for one, believe that depriving a person of the ability to choose and obtain for himself or herself what they can for the purpose of extending life, whatever quality of life that may be, is equivalent to murder. Also, many of the advances in medicine come as a result of the knowledge gained from use of medicines and procedures that may not substantially extend life for the earliest users. Once that is not an option, look for advances to slow...

Please explain how "government policies will be changed to help combat... poverty" without the labor of those who generate the wealth to support those who cannot or will not produce? I am very interested in the details of this miraculous plan. If it is anything like I suspect you're going to describe, I, for one, will not do any of the things you suggested. I'll just hop up on the cart and let YOU pull me, too! Hope you have a really strong back! Ha, Ha!
