I agree with most of your and other's comments, except for calling Social Security "entitlement." I paid into this system, and so did millions of others. If the loans taken from our fund had been paid back with interest, we would not be in this mess. If we weren't funding things outside the Constitutionally designated business of the Federal Government, we wouldn't be in this mess. \
I was a child support caseworker. My take on child support is this: generally most men do NOT want custody of the children. Most moms, and therefore children, are living in reduced circumstances. They need the child support to make ends meet. Yes, there are those who bilk the system, but, overall, most are honestly trying to get the money to help meet expenses. Many of our absent fathers (we NEVER called them deadbeat dads--that's an anachronism) came in to voluntarily pay through the system in order to have a record of payments. Many of them hid out to avoid responsibility. A small percentage were struggling. However, would they have worked that hard if they were in the home, making life easier for the...
