The Paul Ryan Choice

Mr. Sowell has hit the nail on the head again in his succinct op-ed. Before he ran for President 4 years ago, Mr. Obama's record was thin but well established as far left being voted the MOST LIBERAL SENATOR in 2007 based on his record. Voters ignored the facts. Many have been led or pushed into federal government dependencies through President Obama's and Senator Harry Reid's failures. If they vote for him in a hope of continuation of such public welfare, they will go down with the ship of state. If they cut the federal purse strings, return to accepting individual responsibility, and elect a like-minded team that knows how to clear the way for massive job growth in the private sector, we have a chance to change direction for the better.

Governor Mitt Romney's choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate is one of those decisions that seem obvious -- if not inevitable -- in retrospect, even though it was by no means obvious to most of us beforehand.

Anyone who wants to get a quick sense of who Paul Ryan is should watch a short video of a February 2010 meeting in which Congressman Ryan politely, but devastatingly, "schools" Barack Obama on the utter fraudulence of the statistics that the Obama administration was using to claim that ObamaCare would reduce the deficit. That video is available on...
