Actually, the problem is that no candidate that can pass muster with the ultra-extremist-conservatives to win the primaries can win a majority vote with Americans who are more moderate. The only time Romney was even tied with Obama was when he moved to the middle - by then it was too late. Obama won because more people trusted him to lead the country than Romney. Simple. Democrats care about morals as much as self-righteous Republicans - they just don't believe in forcing them on the whole country. They believe in free choice. Individual responsibility and not theology. (you know, those things spoke about in our constitution). Republicans want to regulate morality, denegrate the poor and minorities, play victims, and protect the wealthy.

Ok, I was wrong. I thought the Republicans would win the Presidency. I was not the only one. Smart people like Michael Barone and Karl Rove thought so also, in addition to people like Dick Morris. A knowledgeable friend called me the Saturday before the election and told me John McLaughlin, the pollster, just told him Romney wins it going away. So what happened?
