Why would it be abhorrent if it's only a collection of cells? What would be so traumatizing to view a "potential life" that's not really a life? An embryo that's not really a baby? If the chick can't handle killing a collection of cells, perhaps she ought not do it. She shouldn't get a free pass if someone else is paying for that abortion, for sure.
I had to read the article, because I am a healthy, attractive, happy, intelligent 45 year old woman who also personally felt it was better to wait for a man who deserved to be my first lover than merely scratch a physical itch. I'm not sorry at all that I waited. I think I've finally found that man; and because he is who he is, I think he's going to cry when I offer to share that with him. I'm not religious, I don't think I have to wait until I'm married....but I suppose I always felt *I* was worth enough to wait it out for something real. All of my friends, without exception, are deeply sorry that so many men knew them before their husbands; they would like for that to be something precious they could offer, and that's gone forever...
