After the first year there'd be real trouble, because the people being taxed at 100% would leave the country and go - well, anywhere.

The difference is that there are things that the Constitution authorizes the federal government to do, and things that it does not. Entitlements, it does not.

The process is theft. You should re-read the column and focus on Dr. Williams' discussion of legality versus morality.

You voluntarily bought a car and then voluntarily paid up front to insure it, thereby choosing of your own free will to join a certain pool - a limited segment - of other individuals (also of their own free wills) to share your risk. Your loss is paid once (not once each month, ad infinitum) and you are restored to the financial position in which you were before you sustained your loss. Now I am sure you can see the faults within your analogy.
And just when will you be there?
Who do you think makes up corporations?

You will get nowhere telling people what they do not want to hear, regardless of truth, and as long as their own prideful ignorance keeps them from allowing you to help, no progress can be made. Simply putting your tax money in their pockets via entitlements, grants, etc. does not work, but it is all you are "allowed" to do.

Then there'd be efforts to outlaw political parties. Yes, we are that mindless.

We're a nation of cowards, Professor Williams. Worse, we're a nation of prideful cowards. So, "No Justice, No Peace" will continue as the mantra of the misguided efforts of Al Sharpton (I do not use his title because he and Christianity are complete strangers), who is so dumb and proud that he chooses to focus solely on all 6% of non-black-on-black homicides.
Did he bully anyone while he was there? Do you see the failure in your comparison?
