Duped by Congressional Lies

Well said, One. I'd be happy to fully manage my own retirement, rather than have it messed up by megalomaniac control freaks who actually think that they know what is in my best interest.
Actually, next would be that parents are prohibited from keeping on them until they find jobs.
Ah. So it was not a political wind that told our president to save those auto industry executives' jobs.
Hopefully, Sen. Lugar's primary defeat is an indicator that the purge of Big Government types is still underway.
If we agree on a property line between our two lots, then I come back later and assert that the line is 50 feet in your favor, and you agree to give me 25 feet, is that a compromise? There's no difference between founding American principles (your lot) and the current state of political affairs (your new property line). So- called Conservatives have been negotiating from left of center since the Progressive Era; especially since the Roosevelts and Johnson Administrations. The assertion that there are any influential right-wing extremists on the current national political stage is an absurdity.

Federal government entitlement programs are unconstitutional. It cannot be stated more plainly.

After the first year there'd be real trouble, because the people being taxed at 100% would leave the country and go - well, anywhere.

The difference is that there are things that the Constitution authorizes the federal government to do, and things that it does not. Entitlements, it does not.

The process is theft. You should re-read the column and focus on Dr. Williams' discussion of legality versus morality.

You voluntarily bought a car and then voluntarily paid up front to insure it, thereby choosing of your own free will to join a certain pool - a limited segment - of other individuals (also of their own free wills) to share your risk. Your loss is paid once (not once each month, ad infinitum) and you are restored to the financial position in which you were before you sustained your loss. Now I am sure you can see the faults within your analogy.
And just when will you be there?
