Apparently these representatives were as ill-informed as the population, right? Even worse, you have RETIRING members of the Senate saying, "Yeah, sure, I don't care, I'm not up for reelection." Who is to protect us from those who have lost interest or are deaf to the public will?

Green Bay does have "one owner," he's called the Mayor and he answers to the "Board of Directors" (citizens of Green Bay) on a regular basis.

When are these fools going to realize that "The People's..." anything is a socialist/communist propaganda piece meant to fleece the people of millions? And much of those millions could've been, should've been utilized in a better fashion.
It never ceases to amaze me at how exclusive the cause of progressivism is. Jackson fought off the Supreme Court for the Trail of Tears, it took Lincoln's initiative to end slavery, it took Senate Republicans to end the filibuster over the Civil Rights Act, and now our dear sweet "Sophie" and liberal elites want to take suffrage back to "original intent." Unless you are a member of the landed nobility of University Campuses (and some non-State Sponsored Colleges), you cannot vote. Sounds about par for the course.
Problem #1: The issue with progressives is "the numbers." 87% of Americans consider themselves Christian, therefore in finding a religious "enemy" guess who it is? It doesn't matter that there isn't a major religion in the world that supports any form of homosexuality, it's demonizing this 87%. Problem #2: Any argument we try to level isn't compatible with Christ's teaching. E.g. "God hates homos" (Thank you Westboro Baptist Church). God gives you a choice, follow me or don't. Christ said "...don't judge..." and "Love each other as I have loved you..." and "...remove the beam from your eye first..." Mr. Thomas is correct, if Christians cannot line their message up to Christ's, in the end, we will lose.
You are correct. However unions need to be stripped to non-political/non-profit organizations that are around for contract negotiations only. However that will take a concerted effort on the inside and out. Furthermore, politicians need to look beyond themselves (for once) and make substantial cuts to their pay and pensions. You average state representative makes more than tenured, PhD.'s at our best institutions. They also get 100% pensions after their first day (or term in some cases) of office. YOU ARE A PUBLIC SERVANT! SERVE THE PUBLIC!
