Why don't these very old GOP fossils in the US Senate retire? Do they think they own their seats for life?
While I concur that Jeremiah Wright's views matter, this election should be forward looking. In other words, let's talk about the economy, jobs, budget deficits, and tax reform. Most independents shun partisanship, and Romney would be fine to pursue what he has done from the beginning: redirect our country to pro growth policies.
I know of a small Pennsylvania company owned by acquaintances of my family. Union wages and work rules bankrupted his company as his costs became too expensive. When the owner told these thugs to take pay cuts or he'd shut it down, they preferred to not have jobs. Hell as Democrats, it's great. Stay on the public dole rather than toil at a job every day.
If you look at the vote spread last time, Obama won by around 10 million votes. So for Romney to eke out a victory, he needs about 6 million switchers, or about 10% of HIs Majesty's total from last time. Now the electoral college determines the President, but in general, the victor in total votes wins the White House, with only four exceptions.
Sure, Gary Johnson is a great fiscal conservative, and I concur with him on many issues, but I'm voting for Romney because a vote for Johnson is a vote for Obama. Almost all libertarians will vote Republican if they didn't have a choice but between two candidates.
He sounded as though he were high on drugs. What a wasteful human being.
Booker was taken to the woodshed, and he meekly towed the Administration line. Shapiro also said that Booker kissed Obama's ring. He should have said "kiss his a$$."
I am one that dislikes the Electoral College, but it is impossible to overturn the Constitution as small states will not take away their enormous clout in the Presidential election. If the EC was abolished, candidates would work harder in large states in order to even out the total votes.
One comment that the brave student neglected to mention in his debate with the ill informed teacher is that there are more imperative issues than Romney bullying a student in the 1960s. We have become a National Enquirer nation looking at useless tidbits. Instead, the student could have pointed out that with a 16 trillion dollar deficit, antiquated tax system, overregulation of business, the war in Afghanistan, Iranian nuclear bombs, stagnant economy, why are we chatting about something so inconsequential as bullying 50 years ago, or whether Obama ate dog meat as a child?
Sure one can be that ignorant. Listening to the woman in her heavy black accent and semi ebonics, you wonder how she can inculcate any student. But that's where affirmative action and union representation get you: the lowest common denominator.
