20 Reasons You Just Might Be A Liberal (2012 Election Edition)

And, yes, rather you like it or not, he is still cleaning up Bush's mess. You don't start 2 wars without paying for them and not expect the price for those wars to linger for quite some time. I also believe that Romney/Ryan would hurt the country. Hurt women specifically. And the elderly. Hurt the uninsured. And limit freedom (let's not forget the Patriot Act that republicans created). So, before you spout more of this mess off, actually get to know a liberal. You may find that the broad brush you paint us with isn't actually true. Now, I'm sure that all of you upstanding conservatives will want to attack me. Remember, insulting me by calling me names and just telling me how dumb I am, only makes you look bad.

Tex-Thank U! Libby does an excellent jab of demonstrating her intellect, U reckon?

That's only because you've never been able to be taught anything.

It's hard to believe that MN Teacher is actually licensed to teach children!

e. And limit freedom (let's not forget the Patriot Act that republicans created). I already mentioned I'm very against this. But it was a bi-partisan effort. When the Democrats had control of the House, Senate, and Presidency, they doubled-down on the Patriot Act and made it more restrictive rather than do away with it. Take a look at the NDAA that President Obama signed into law January 2012. It's the Patriot Act on steroids, and if you're really concerned by the Patriot Act, you should be horrified and up in arms about the NDAA.

I believe you truly care about people and America. So do I. But sometimes the answer is to get rid of laws, rules, and regulations that already exist and NOT spend money in order "Do something....

d. Romney/Ryan would ... hurt women specifically. And the elderly. Hurt the uninsured. - Taxpayers not paying for women's birth control does NOT hurt women. The democrats would have a woman switch from dependence on a husband or parents to dependence on the government, which was not our goal. We wanted independence. Some of us recognized that also meant self-reliance and taking on the responsibility for ourselves. The elderly - Romney/Ryan would replace the over 700 billion that APACA (Obamacare) took out of Medicare. I would trust a businessman over a community organizer to be able to root out the causes of cost overruns of Social Security, Medicare, and even Medicaid that have nothing to do with the actual money going to the...

Dear Libby312, As a woman who was at the forefront of women's lib in the 1970's, and as a person who is conservative woman, please allow me to set you straight on a few things.
a. I didn't like Bush's wars either and totally disagreed with them and the Patriot Act. However, the economy didn't crash because of the wars. That was due to Democrat policies enacted under Clinton and Democrats that held the majority in the House and/or Senate, which created the CRA and forced (literally, forced) banks to give mortgages to people who could not afford them. Because of this, a housing bubble was created that burst.
b. Ending the war in Iraq - The end date that Obama followed to the day was part of a treaty President Bush made with...

c. Afghanistan war - Another major faux pas of President Obama. He announced that we will leave, but then deployed an additional 30,000 troops for a "surge". Two-thirds to three-fourths of the deaths in Afghanistan happened under President Obama because of that. Again, the date that he announced as being our final day was negotiated by President Bush. Obama is only going along with what has already been written in a treaty.

I know a couple of Liberals or rather Democrats. I'm not convinced that every Democrat is "Liberal." They are both honest of heart and kind. However, both have acknowledged to me in separate conversations that THIS Democrat Party is NOT the Democrat party they knew and grew up with. The Progressive/Communist movement has co-opted it. You can state what you "believe" but there is evidence out there to the contrary of your beliefs. Your definition of what would "hurt" women (allow them to abort their babies as a form of birth control, force the taxpayers to pay for their other types of birth control so they don't have to take responsibility for their own actions) is vastly off from what actually does hurt women...just for starters.

You might be a liberal if you believe that Obamacare brings us affordable care when in reality it makes care more expensive and more difficult to obtain. (proven, by the way) You might be a liberal if you think that taking $700B out of Medicare makes it stronger and that the Ryan plan designed to save Medicare will "hurt" seniors. You might be a liberal if you believe the guilty on death row should live, but innocent unborn children should die. You might be a liberal if you think you can actually spin the disaster that is Obama into anything that actually helps this country or it's people. Shall we talk about foreign policy next? You keep telling yourself you are a genius. That will make one person who thinks so.

Fire your incompetent factchecker. The cost of the two wars of which you speak amounts to less than 14% ... not of the total budget, not of the military budget, not of the debt, but of the DEFICITS under Obama. So, by definition, more than 86% of the Obama deficits cannot be blamed on the wars. That liberal canard has been parroted by the uninformed for far too long.

And Obamacare has already guaranteed harm to women and the elderly, etc. You may believe that the Easter Bunny, Elvis and the Great Pumpkin are scheming to force you to have children - it's more credible.

I don't have the time, nor the inclination to address every bit of nonsense in your post, and I doubt it would make a dent anyway. But I'll just point out a couple of quick ones:

1. The Patriot Act passed in the senate by a vote of 97-1
2. Healthcare is now more "affordable?" On what planet?
3. The entire cost of the Iraq war was less than Obama's deficit for ONE YEAR

Sorry, Libby, but everything you just said only reinforces our view that liberals like you have no grasp on reality.

The fact that you actually believe what you just typed is evidence enough.

It's your Kool-Aid splattered regurgitation of the liberal mantra that makes you look bad.
WestTexan Wrote: Oct 02, 2012 11:00 AM
No, we'll just ignore you. Liberal reality is a fantasy land.

With apologies to Jeff Foxworthy, you just might be a liberal if...

1) You get extremely upset about the idea of the government coming into our bedrooms unless it's to give everyone free birth control.

2) You believe that people who hold the exact same position on gay marriage that Barack Obama did last year are horrible bigots who are unfit to hold office.

3) You think that Mitt Romney, who has raked leaves for old people, helped a dying child with his will, and paid for college educations for kids who became quadriplegics in...
