Those items they are trying to take away is exactly the item that will stop the takers and remove the desire to do so....." Let's definitely keep the second amendment. But it should only apply to weapons that were available when it was written. Let's be honest, the Founders never conceived of semi-automatic weapons and assault rifles and similar weapons of mass violence.

Your right, and instead of typing that you should have wrote it with a quell pin. That's all the founders new about at the time of the first amendmet. I'm sure if they new false info could be spread so fast over computers they would have a heart attack. So you got that libs, no more computers, radio, or t.v. Get a feather and some Ink, after all thats all the founders knew about.

oh yeah, I'm sure the founders wouldn't have a problem if you wanted to stand on a soap box and spout your b.s. but remember, no more typing. LOL

The whole reason for the Second Amendment is to PROTECT the citizens from the GOVERNMENT. The U.S. military HAS ships, fighters, bombers, tanks, cannons, rocket launchers, gatling guns, machine guns, AUTOMATIC rifles, various types of bombs, nerve gasses and a multitude of NEW electronic weapons that CAN be used AGAINST the civilian population. So what YOU advocate is to register EVERY self-defensive weapon (the vast majority of which are semi-automatic rifles) with a branch of the GOVERNMENT to "protect" the government against the underarmed civilian population. Seems to me you have your wires crossed. It would be far more productive to raise our children to respect human life (IN and OUT of the womb) rather than take away our rights.

That is ridiculous. The 2nd Amendment is there to provide security from a tyrannical govt rising over the people. To make stipulations in what can be used by us as a deterrent/defense, makes as much sense as playing Wheel of Fortune with 14 letters..... Come on now!

Last night on the O'Reilly Factor, the debate between Bill O'Reilly and Rep. Jason Chaffetz got extremely heated after O'Reilly called for Congress to pass a law requiring the registration of all "heavy" weapons to be reported to the FBI because it "makes sense."

First off, if you want to buy a machine gun legally, you can't get one unless you get a special permit from ATF. O'Reilly grossly misstated the facts. You cannot go buy a mortar or a full automatic machine gun at any gun...
