The US Should Follow Europe's Lead

I enjoyed your article and it is well researched as far as it goes. There is no doubt that we are in a normal cycle; but you do have to understand that the nature of the thermodynamics of the earth's energy system would have these extremes, whether it was heating up or cooling down. The earth has been warmer and it has been cooler; but the thermodynamic process of getting there saw extremes at both ends before finding a stable average temperature on a global scale.

How Safe is Your Hospital?

You seem to forget that medicine is an art, not a science. We use science to support it; but the logistical and political aspects of medicine are the true felons of the majority of those deaths you talk about. Infections from poor overwatch groups, full ER departments from the social ills of immigration, poor eduction, illiteracy. You can't blame medicine for the social ills they have to deal with in the process of there attempts to heal.
Your logic is rather circular and not valid at all. Its a problem to mix what you consider the "rightness" of something and the legal logic to support it. First, the conceptual ideal of Freedom is the central core of our Republic. No where does it infer to the state or the definition of what marriage is, or should be. That is a legislative issue to be determined by the individual states. That is the point of how are system is set up, to allow differences between disparate groups. The Constitution defines our basic rights and a rule of law balancing out the function and power of each office. To start micro-managing the people of the Republic undercuts this balance. Legislative debates on a state level allows an expression of each...
Actually you wold be hard pressed to find "tens of millions of American Atheists", you might be able to find that many agnostic's. Not sure of your reference to Japan, for having lived there for some years, the are one of the more religious societies that exist. Since WWII, many have converted to Christianity from Buddhism and a number of other faith's or philosophical bents; but certainly rarely if ever a true atheist. Marriage historically has been a social function defined by law; but sanctioned and approved by religious groups; but more as a philosophy than a true faith based religious concept.
Actually marriage is not an inherently religious issue, its more about social stability. Religious philosophy has always inherently been the social fulcrum that helps support the union of marriage and by definition the stability of any society. It helps to define wealth transfer through the generations and a myriad number of other social benefits, that have nothing directly to do with religion.
Well yes, go to New Orleans...or any other party town on Spring Break
Well said....
I'm not sure who I'm talking with, about the "a dictator is much more like a ceo or a donald trump type of character."; but please don't take anything i say as insulting; for a CEO in our quasi Repbulic/Democracy/capitalist state, is nothing like a dictator. First, working for a CEO by definition provides us with choices. The choice to work for him or her, to quit, to bargain for what I'm paid, to group together with a union and force change, to market my skills to a better boss....the list is rather long, for the freedom to choice in a free society us a world unto itself. If you have a dictator in charge, you can have a range of opportunities or abuses depending on the moral character of the dictator in question. Even the best of...
Well written, not to many people, get your points correct.....have a nice day...
One good subjective experience does not imply truth. I don't think anyone says that all public schools are bad, I've seen quite a few good ones; but any indoctrination is usually one or two teachers in a school, sometimes quite a bit more, it varies. But since in the early grades every teacher sees every child, if they do have an agenda, it will have an accumulative affect. Your failure to see, it ether due to your lack of exposure to those ones that are out there or you don't have the experience to recognize it. An nonobjective mind, whether right or left tends to see those things that reinforce there beliefs. In your case, that you deign that any problem exist shows a lack of objectivity. We can debate as to how much of the...
