In response to:

Watergate at 40: Obama is the Democrats’ Nixon

If Reagan was "The Great Communicator", Obama is "The Great Prevaricator". Like Nixon, he feels he can use the auspices of the presidency to destroy opponents. Unlike Nixon, he has no love of country. He is a small minded person thinking only of his own glorification. His conflicted religious emotions result from being brought up as a Muslim. Even if he is unaware, his Christianity is a result of forced selection for political reasons. As well as the arrogance of NIxon, he is also the most divisive president this country has had in modern history.

To be fair, he was not brought up Muslim, but lived in a Muslim country for several years of his life. His conflicted religious ideals come from being raised by atheist/agnostics, going to church insincerely and having some kind of experience (Rev. Wright is no longer lying), only the experience is at a church that most denominations would say is outside of historical Christianity. He is most likely in the practical agnostic camp, like many today, too intellectually lazy to search for meaning, so they derive meaning from two-bit professors lectures, movies, or song lyrics.

In governing style, not necessarily substance, there are certainly parallels between Obama and Nixon.

In can be argued that both men derived their aggressiveness from feelings of inadequacy they endured as children. Both brought these feelings of adequacy in the form of personal demons into the White House; demons that gave them plastic personalities that never really took shape. Both let their demons dictate how they governed- rudderless, compass-less but always needy- to the great...
