Maybe you can take the suggestion at the end of the article and subscribe to Townhall.com where you can read the full article from which Ms Meinecke took her opinion piece. Since you know the difference between an adjective and an adverb, I'd be interested in your opinion.
Would it have been as interesting if POTUS was written on the paper? Or if "Jesus" was pronounced "Hay-Soos"? Was the point to offend?
"Children are highly vulnerable. They have little or no power to protect or provide for themselves and little influence on so much that is vital to their well-being. Children need others to speak for them, and they need decision makers who put their well-being ahead of selfish adult interests." -Dallin H Oaks
There are many people who share your view, but putting the God/No God debate aside, there is a truth that even as an agnostic you certainly see, and that is that all actions have consequences. There are long term consequences of the social experiment of same-sex marriage. We already know the consequences of cohabitation, and who suffers most? Children. Marriage is not just about the couple.
I believe there are absolute truths. One of those is that the gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us we must live with each other's differences and treat one another with mutual respect. But since pretending there is no sin does not lessen it's burden or pain, it's also a requirement of the Christian to speak up for truth, but to do so with clear doctrine expressed with love.

We have been honored and pleased as our two faiths have worked together on issues of faith, morality and service to the poor and needy. We value the relationships that have been formed in these joint efforts and are grateful for the good that has been accomplished. We look forward to pursuing together, as the Apostle Paul wrote, all things that are true, honest, just,
When I lived in Madrid twenty years ago, I heard a great joke. Here's my imperfect transaltion: A Catalonian goes to Madrid on government business. When he gets there, he can't find anyone in the building. Finally, he tracks down a cleaning woman and asks, "Don't the government employees work in the afternoon?" She responds, "That's not correct, Sir. They don't work in the morning. In the afternoon, they're not here." ("Por la manana, no trabajan. Por la tarde, no estan")
At this time and place in history, our nation has no excuse for denying the reality that a child in the womb is a human being.
Obama's answers ARE interminable. You're not imagining it.
That's one reason I only listen to the debates on radio. Obama sounded annoyed and defensive. Romney sounded calm, clear, collected, caring and presidential.
