Pat, you're a wise observer. Tell us what needs to be done to repair America. Our education system is in the hands of unions who are openly teaching socialism in schools now. Our money is in the hands of the Creatures from Jekyl Island. Our congress is in the hands of men who believe they were elected to give them a fat, opulent life at taxpayer expense. Our military is in the hands of "professionals," which is diametrically opposed to the founders idea of a "citizen" army called when needed. Our bureaucracy is now considered "too big to fail." So, Pat, what do we do?

There are two options:

1) A violent revolution (bad)
2) An article 5 constitutional convention (difficult, but possible)

Now, I know all the arguments against a constitutional convention, but I think they all fail. And as you say, the alternative is what?

(Hint: voting is not an alternative. The system gives us a choice between candidate A, who gives us a 1.5 trillion deficit every year, versus candidate B, who bravely offers a "cut" to a 1.499 trillion deficit.)

do you know of such a country? maybe a new country is needed.

Whittaker Chambers said that "the great failing of American conservatives is they do not retrieve their wounded."

He had it right, as Todd Akin can testify.

In an interview that aired last Sunday, Akin, the Republican candidate for Senate in Missouri, was asked whether he opposed abortions for women who had been raped. Akin's reply:

"From what I understand from doctors, that's really rare. ... If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down ... .

"But let's assume that maybe that didn't work or...
