An Evangelical Pope?

Mr. Youssef is incorrect in his statement that the Catholic Church requires baptism in the Catholic Church. Since the time of St. Augustine and a group of Christians know as the Donatists the Catholic church has accepted one baptism.The Donatists were members of a schismatic church not in communion with the churches of the Catholic tradition in Late Antiquity. When they reunited with the Catholic Church they were not required to be re-baptized and the Catholic church continues this today.

"When they reunited with the Catholic Church they were not required to be re-baptized and the Catholic church continues this today."

The 'key' phrase in that statement is, "when they reunited with the Catholic church". If an individual or group chooses to submit to the authority of the RCC and its false teachings, the issue of 'baptism' is truely a inconsequential matter.

Holy Baptism qualifies all faithful Christians as CATHOLICS; not evangelicls. Therefore you'll revert to the faith of the apostles without needing a newer baptism. Once is what saves you;

And only by becoming unfaithful, a heretical sect, are you not a Catholic.

Jesus founded the One, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church; Not the so-called reformers. They founded anti-catholic sects; now calling themselves "evangelicals." I know them as good, honorable but deluded Bible Thumpers. Like Michael Youssef.

Of course; when Andy tries to label the Catholic faith false teachings; he's just being a bigot and liar. It comes with the evangelical territory, after all.

Bible Thumpers. You say that as if that is bad. What are you a Pope Thumper? Did the Pope die on the cross for redemption of mankind?

Bible Thumpers teach the gospel of men; not Jesus Christ. Catholics since the descent of the Holy Spirit seen in Acts 2, have believed only the Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ. This is the Holy Gospel spread to all nations by Christ's apostles and disciples; not by mere men. MEN gave you the gospel of men in a "reformation" of the apostles' work given to us in the Catholic Church.

How dare MEN change what Jesus Christ founded? What insolence! Paul calls you all "Anathema," in Galatians 1.

The media, including some in the Christian media, throw around the word evangelical with little understanding of its proper definition. Most recently, the media has done this in referring to Pope Benedict XVI as the “Evangelical Pope.”

In an attempt to say he’s a missionary-minded Pope, or a proselytizing Pope, they impart a title that would probably make him most uncomfortable.

I have a deep respect for Pope Benedict. Respect for his impressive intellect. Respect for his strong stand on moral issues. Respect for his belief in the uniqueness of Jesus Christ for salvation. Respect for his levelheadedness in understanding other...
