In fact, if it wasn't, it would have never endorsed John McCain in 2008 or Mitt Romney in 2012 and selected John Boehner as the Speaker of the House after the 2010 elections. Something is very wrong in the world when the most dogmatic and inflexible president in recent memory can make unreasonable demands of his GOP budget opponents and yet be confident they'll be blamed for the impasse.
