After the way Republicans ran as far away from GWB as they could get, and allowed libs to get away with blaming for everything except the Plague, who could blame him for not wanting to get involved? And in truth, I'd be willing to bet he was never asked. The GOP has allowed his reputation to be ruined, and they have no desire to correct the record. The GOP wants absolutely nothing to do with him, to their own peril. He wasn't a perfect man or perfect president (who is?) but he is an honorable statesman who loves his country. Even Nixon gets more respect these days than President Bush. Sad commentary, if you ask me.

Now I think it's time for Republicans to start blaming George W. for the next four years.

For a week we've been pinning last week's debacle on everything from Mitt Romney's moderation to low Republican turnout.

But the most important Republican who didn't turn out to support Romney this fall was George W. Bush.
