of what government run healthcare would be like: Tricare (the health plan offered to military members). It's "free", and that's about all it's worth.

Granted, there are some good doctors there, but we know there were doctors there who couldn't pass the medical bar and become doctors the traditional way.

Pretty much all of the dental work my husband had done through Tricare had to be redone (at a much higher cost) later on.

He also had a friend who went to the base emergency room because they had been bitten by a brown recluse spider only to have the doctor there question why they would come in for that (obviously he had no idea how serious those bites can get).

Sure, public funded health care may seem...

in the area of Medical Savings Accounts. The idea of MSAs is great, but many of the regulations on them make them hard to use and for many people worthless.

Their biggest problem is the time restrictions placed on them. In setting up our MSA for the first time this year, we had to decide within a small window last year what amount we would set aside each month to the MSA for the entire year would be. In May I found out that I am pregnant. It would be useful for me to be able to increase that donation to cover the cost, but I am not allowed to do so. In addition, any money still in the account at the end of December gets taken away. So, it wouldn't do me any good to increase the money I set aside now anyways... I can't use...
