Have Americans Lost Their Minds?

In a word: "yes."
If you can't write any better than you read (Harold was not called a street walker; the blog said she "was being used like a street walker"), please keep your race hustling to yourself. Republicans lost largely because of voter fraud and apathy that kept 6.5 million Republican voters on the sidelines in 2012 compared to 2008.

Would that one actually knew what the markets are "telling us."
An 8 percentage point drop in The One's approval rating is, in fact, a 15% drop in approval ((53-45)/53). Math challenged headline editors need not apply...

OK - here's his oath of office; please indicate which parts Snowdon violated: “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. B. Franklin, 1775
The question, simply, is how much energy does it take to create a given quantity of biofuel compared to the energy which can be extracted from it. Important considerations which are seldom included in the analyses include (1) how much damage does ethanol do to systems not originally designed for bio fuels (older cars, tractors, motorcycles, chain saws, weed whackers, lawn mowers, etc.), (2) how many people, worldwide, starve because they can't afford the higher prices of corn based food products, (3) how much more biofuel do I have to purchase and consume (with similar emissions profiles) to compensate for its lower energy density, etc. In an apples-to-oranges, unbiased, comparison, it is highly unlikely that ethanol produced from corn, etc., will turn out to be a wise use of resources. The EPA has already admitted that use of ethanol in gasoline has had no measurable impact on air pollution in the Eastern US. Its only "value" is feel good public relations policy. Only progressives can take PR to the bank...
Ah, but the Titanic orchestra (Wallace Hartley) played on due to incredible heroism, not abject stupidity. Regrettably, the French decapitated their best and brightest (not to mention, tallest) during their Revolution. Two plus further centuries of in-breeding have not helped the situation.

Boy Suspended For Merely Saying 'Gun'

I once asked a bank manager to show me the "law" she claimed gave them the "right" to destroy another bank's ATM card, even if it was mistakenly (improperly) captured by their ATM. I called the local cops in an attempt to get them to force the manager to return my property. Three cop cars and 6 cops showed up; their sergeant stated "if the manager says it's a law, it's a law." He added that if I continued my protest, he would arrest me and transport me to the local hoosegow. It later turned out it was only bank "policy" which was changed after I wrote to the bank's chairman. Now, instead of ingesting your card if it senses an error, it simply spits it out and sends you on your way. Needless to say, no apology from branch manager, chairman or Key-stoner.
