The Real Answer to the Immigration Question

Our immigration policy was set up to get the "best and the brightest" from across the globe. The Democrats in charge will accept anyone which means our selection pool is diluted and our nation will continue to decline. Remember, with the Democrats refusing to control the borders and deport the illegals, we get not the "best and the brightest," but we get those without security checks, without health checks, without jobs, without papers, without proof they can stay off welfare, without respect for the English language and without respect and adherence to our laws. Law-abiding citizens and lawful residents need to wake up to the destruction of America with the bastardization of our immigration policies.

Then our immigration policy is not meeting all of our nation's needs, which include the need for cheap, immediately-available menial labor. Because our immigration policy fails us in this need, we have illegal immigration.

Beyond that, many of the best and the brightest that we have in America today are descendents of those who came here to work hard at menial jobs.

No offense, but based on my own experience ( I am a Canadian citizen, got my 2 degrees in the STEM fields in the States and had worked for a while on temporary visas ), the US Immigration policy is a crapshoot rather than meritocracy based. To make the long story short, I was screwed out of the chance to even apply for green card.
That explains the mess you are in now and yet nobody seems to have the brains and the balls to change the system the right way ( temporary migrant worker program, point-scoring system for prospective immigrants, etc ).
America has almost 12 million illegal immigrants.

Many of them came here on visas and never left.

But about 60 percent of them walked in from just one country -- Mexico.

Though the stalled Obama Economy has caused about 900,000 to go home since 2007, there are still about 6 million Mexicans living in the United States who've sneaked across our borders.

Everyone from Marco Rubio to John McCain and our golfer in chief are trying to figure out how to deal with the illegal immigrants we have already and prevent future waves of Mexican migrants.

But no...
