One of the reasons, again our military was not allowed to be a military. As in Korea,Nam and elsewhere we were sent in as a military but not allowed to truly fight, WWII was the last time our military did it's job properly, then we got political and elected officials and UN'ers started to tell the military what and how to do its job. War is War and the only way to win is to kill the enemy before they kill you. It is not a game and is hated by those that have to fight, but at times it is necessary and if you have to fight then its kill or be killed not nice but a fact.

Afghanistan: Special comment: This week Coalition forces commander General Allen said that only ten of Afghanistan's now 405 districts, in 34 provinces, are responsible for half of the violence in Afghanistan.

They are Sangin, Nowzad, Musa Qala, Kajaki, Nad e Ali, Nahr e Sarraj in Sangin Province plus Pol-e-Alam in Lowgar Province and Maiwand, Panjwai and Zherai in Kandahar Province.

Allen's list is not a metric of progress....
