Jim DeMint, November 15, 2013....... Five years on and President Obama still refuses to assume responsibility for his woeful economic record. The buck stops with Republicans, other countries, changes in the weather, etc.—anywhere but the Oval Office. Of course, it’s not new having a chief executive who refuses to admit failure. What is rare is having a news media that does not hold the President accountable. So let’s establish the record. At 2.2 percent annual growth, we are now witnessing the slowest economic recovery in generations. Even the Council on Foreign Relations says “the economic expansion following the 2008 recession has been the weakest of the post-World War II era.” This is true across a number of fronts: economic growth, housing prices, industrial production and capacity, etc. Liberals cry that what we need is more government overspending, which without a trace of irony they call “stimulus.” In other words, they want us to ignore the fact that this Administration and the Federal Reserve have spent more on government-based economic “stimulus” than any other in America’s history, and with little to show. Just this week, a former Federal Reserve officer admitted that this Administration’s big-government control of the economy has been an abject failure. Andrew Huszar, now of Rutgers Business School, wrote in The Wall Street Journal that “the Fed may have created and spent over $4 trillion for a total return of as little as 0.25% of GDP (i.e., a mere $40 billion bump in U.S. economic output). Both of those estimates indicate that QE [quantitative easing] isn’t really working.” Remember shovel-ready? Crony-ready is more apt. Obama’s massive stimulus spending plan early in his Administration funneled money out of the real economy, where jobs are created among small businesses. Instead, his Administration gave multimillion-dollar projects to the politically connected, from labor unions to unproven green energy firms like Solyndra. Predictably, this boondoggle did almost nothing to grow the economy or create permanent new jobs. The reason nothing has worked is that President Obama’s and the liberal progressive movement’s belief in government-centric economic policies is antithetical to economic rationality. The recent miserable economic record is the result of an accumulation of these misguided liberal policies.
It is blatantly false and misleading for these simple minded lib/progs/dems to keep saying "We are a Democracy". We are a Constitutional Republic, which means rule of law not rule of majority/man. Did they not pay attention to civics in high school or is it that they don't teach that anymore. Probably the latter.....
TBrennan55 Is delusional that the right had no input or ideas about how to reform healthcare!!! A 2 minute search on the web, I found the following link. No TBrennan55, when the dems had the pres/house/senate they wouold not hear or work with the right on these ideas. It (obozocare) was shoved and lied about (as the public is now aware) at us. I now doubt seriously that obozo would have won in 2012 if all these chickens have come home to roost back then. http://www.speaker.gov/sites/speaker.house.gov/files/UploadedFiles/Summary_of_Republican_Alternative_Health_Care_plan.pdf
"Nathan" fails to realize that if most of us drove a Chevy Volt, it would crash our electrical grids and cause us to burn more "EVIL DIRTY COAL" !!! LOL. Libs are delusional and just proves it must be a mental dis-order. Semper Fi......

No matter what you say it is still subsidized by the tax payers .17 cents per mile vs .11 cents for the gas cruz model. If the majority owned one it would shut down our power grid and cause more coal to be burned. It is just a feel good purchase and a fad at best. Fed govt picking winners (GM) and losers (coal industry), is tyranny/marxist.

Michael160 takes joy at ridiculing the south, he fails to realize how moronic he sounds. We also have a the Pantex plant here in Amarillo, Tx. Yes, the only plant that stores, modifies, and repairs nuclear weapons. DON"T MESS WITH TEXAS!! Stupid proggs/libtards/leftists. LOL

I am still entertained by "dagnabbit". To read about the folly of his and other progressives logic, just verifies that they have a fantasy view of the world. "The $40 difference is mainly attributable to Obama and his nutty professors like Dr. Stephen Chu who thinks $5.00 a gallon gasoline would be a swell idea." This nutjob (Chu) came to visit our plant (nuclear weapons) where I work as a Toolmaker/CNC Programmer a few years back, he stated that we all need to paint our homes roofs white and re-build them on stilts. I kid you not!!! Our jaws hit the ground, this was our supposed top leader of DOE!!! This man has no clues as to what we need as an energy policy. Semper Fi.....

As always, Great writing John!! I especially love the "comrade" columns. Have a Blessed Memorial Day and May God bless our fallen heroes. SEMPER FI......
I am a Tool and Die/CNC Programmer/Machinist 20 years experience, and believe me when I say, with today's Engineering software (pro-e, creo, etc...) we can use these design/auto cad software to manufacture firearms with today's lathes, milling machines/machine centers. Heaven forbid if our gov ever bans them it still can be made. Semper Fi....
@ Dick4260.....What utter nonsense!! Its "Semi-automatic" weapons for your information. Automatic weapons are already HEAVILY regulated, they fingerprint you among many other requirements. It is called a class3 license. For an army vet you should know the difference between semi-auto & automatic weapons.
