Are records kept on the number of folks murdered in this country by legal guns fired by their legal owners? My hunch is that it's a miniscule percentage which should indicate that our efforts be focused elsewhere IF lowering the murder rate is the real goal here.

I hope that every flavor & variety of conservative reads & heeds the advice of the citizen soldier / barrister...Hey conservatives....all of us agree on fundamentally 80% of our ideology. Here's a suggestion......let's get together, win our country back at the ballot box & arm wrestle over the 20%. When will we realize that reactionary policy....from either side is ususally defective policy. Only one primary reason for the existance of the second amendment....to enforce the other 27 or so...especially the ever popular top 10....to the lovers of amendments 1, 4, 5, 10, 14, 17 or whatever your hotbutton preferences are....when a rogue president or congress decides that it's time for them to go, what are your options at that time?

While we bemoan the president's abuse of the executive order, it seems that we would be perfectly OK if a resurrected Ronald Reagan or some member of the Paul clan (....insert your dream leader here....____)...but if they would appear & demand adherance to conservatism.....Mr. Goldberg, you parting shot targets the heart of our problem. "Orders", whether demanded by Mr. Obama or Mr Paul (....___) eventually lead to open revolution.

This can ONLY be about absolute power (which someone with more wisdom that I said tends to "corrupt absolutely"). I live in Virginia which is a right to work state & I guess that it always has been....that said, the shipbuilders in Norfolk, the workers at the Norfolk - Southern railroad, even the workers at the local Kroger are union members in good standing. The only downside for the unions in the commonwealth of Virginia is that union membership is NOT mandatory.....and in the examples cited, the unions have made their case....the way it should be.

It may be a poor pun that many in the conservative movement see the presidential campaign in a stark black & white.....or perhaps we are a smidgen lazy....the unvarnished reality is that NO government, it's president, congress, its bureaucrats and/or ANY legislation or lack thereof....will solve all the problems of human nature. For the more extreme among us, we could have a president Gary Johnson, a Ron Paul as secretary of the treasury & Rand Paul as the Senate Majority Leader....and YES....it would be very much better.....but that would last 8 years at best & the nation would then reboot.....just like it will do to a much lesser degree next Tuesday....therefore, eternal VIGILANCE is our only answer.
