We cannot "disinvent" the capital markets. There will always be a need to move Capital around. Just as there will always be a need to move Industrial Goods around. And as there is a need to move people around.

What I am saying is that there is always been a need for information. But, today, with the Internet and Cloud Services, we can mine, manufacture, and distribute information orders of magnitude greater than any time in history.

the only reason to have information is because it is currency that can be used like all other inventory to make wealth if applied properly and it costs less that it's return. Being the owner of info for the sake of saying so doesn't work. Capitalism is the engine of motivation and ingenuity.
