"To ban guns because criminals use them is to tell the innocent and
law-abiding that their rights and liberties depend not on their own
conduct, but on the conduct of the guilty and the lawless, and that the
law will permit them to have only such rights and liberties as the
lawless will allow...
For society does not control crime, ever, by forcing the law-abiding to
accommodate themselves to the expected behavior of criminals.
Society controls crime by forcing the criminals to accommodate
themselves to the expected behavior of the law-abiding."

Hitler, Mussolini, Stalin, Pol Pot, Kim Jung IL and many others of their ilk had very tight gun laws.

I'll take Lexington and Concord any day.

l-dopey-a$$,

That's why we threw your limey butts out of here 236 yrs. ago.

The next time we need a "voice from the UK" to tell us how to run our country, we'll ask for it.

I don't remember the lackies refusing American guns, fighter planes, etc. to pull your butts out of that little fracas in the '40's.

After the grisly massacre in Colorado no one will attend weekend showings of The Dark Knight Rises with expectations of a rollicking, uplifting, feel-good night at the movies. But even before its association with horrifying images of real-life mass murder, this final installment in the current Batman series suffered from serious deficiencies in terms of its fun factor. It’s wrong to suggest that the movie provoked the killings in its midnight Aurora premiere, but those crimes do, in a sense, expose the nihilistic darkness at the heart of the film...
